A chaperone is a trained member of staff who can be with you during an examination. They are there to help you feel comfortable and to support both you and the doctor or nurse.
If your doctor or nurse needs to examine you and you would like a chaperone to be present, please let them know. We will arrange this for you.
Friends and family cannot act as chaperones.
Sometimes we may need to delay an examination until a trained chaperone is available.
We have both male and female trained chaperones. If you would prefer a male or female chaperone, please tell us and we will do our best to meet your request.
