In line with the NHS guidance, the practice operates a zero-tolerance policy with regard to violence and abuse. We ask that you show kindness and respect to all the staff at the Practice and within the wider NHS.
Patients who threaten, abuse or who put practice staff at risk will be removed from the practice list in order to safeguard our staff, patients and colleagues. Practice staff will be fully supported in contacting the police in the event of an incident.
Violence in this context includes actual or threatened physical violence or verbal abuse which leads to fear for a person’s safety. In this situation we will notify the patient in writing of their removal from the list and record in the patient’s medical records the fact of the removal and the circumstances leading to it.
