Advanced Nurse Practitioners

  • Linda Simmonds – Practice Nurse Team Leader
    Linda has an interest in primary coronary heart disease prevention, women’s health issues and audiology. She runs our Travel Clinic and sees patients with minor injuries and illnesses such as chest infections.

Community Matron

  • Tina Wild – Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Community Matron Nurse
    She looks after patients with chronic long term illnesses and patients in local residential homes.

Practice Nurses

  • Vicky Ashenden
    Vicky qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1998 at the University of Manchester. Initially she worked on the Emergency Admissions Unit at Stepping Hill Hospital, and then moved to Intensive Care, also at Stepping Hill. She completed BSc in Nursing Studies in 2001, and then moved down to Kent continuing to work on ICU’s in Canterbury, Ashford and Margate Hospitals. In 2010, Vicky changed direction having moved back up North to Hayfield and became a Practice Nurse at Sett Valley Medical Centre. She completed Immunisation and Cytology courses initially, and in 2013 also completed a Diploma in Diabetes Management, followed by an Insulin Conversion course, both affiliated to the Teeside University. In 2015  Vicky began running the Anticoagulation clinic after qualifying at Level 4 in Anticoagulation Management. Some of her other duties are assisting with minor surgery, treatment room duties and wound care. In her spare time, Vicky is a partner in a private Microsuction Earwax removal business.

    Jan performs ECGs, wound management, vaccinations, ear Irrigation and venepuncture. She also assists with minor operations.
