This is run daily and is conducted by practice nurses for:
- HRT checks
- Contraception – If you have been advised by the surgery to submit a contraceptive pill review please complete our form.
If you have had a blood test completed, you can request your results.
Anticoagulation (INR) Clinic
The Anticoagulation clinic is run by the practice nurse on Tuesday mornings for monitoring Warfarin/Sinthrome levels.
To attend this clinic, please contact the practice for availability.
If you have been advised by the surgery to submit an annual review of your asthma symptoms please complete our form. If your symptoms are deteriorating or you are having any concerns please make an appointment with our nurse.
If you have been advised by the surgery to submit a COPD assessment please complete our form.
Please ask reception for information about self-referrals for hearing aid assessment for patients over the age of 55 with hearing difficulties.
Baby Immunisation Clinics are held on Wednesday and Friday, and baby checks on Monday afternoon.
Appointment letters are sent by the practice.
Self Refer / Self Care
Self refer to some of Derbyshire clinical services without having to see the GP. This will save you time and reduce delay in getting an appointment with the service you want. Visit the following pages for more information for self referral.
Clinics are run by GPs with special interest in diabetes, nurses and a visiting dietician. We also have a visiting diabetic nurse specialist on Thursday mornings.
Clinics run by the healthcare assistant team for patients who are borderline diabetic.
These clinics give you the opportunity to discuss your diet, weight, lifestyle, and family history of diabetes.
You will then be offered advice on how to improve your health in order to prevent the onset of diabetes.

We offer an emergency contraception service to all patients. If you require emergency contraception please contact the surgery.
Family Planning Clinic
This is run by the practice nurse. This includes coil checks, oral contraceptives, and more.

Appointments are arranged by the counsellor directly, following referral by the GP or self-referral.
Fit & Trim Club
This clinic follows a Department of Health initiative to promote and raise patient’s awareness of healthier lifestyles. The aim is to minimise the risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and other chronic diseases, and also help with weight loss.
If you have been advised by the surgery to submit your blood pressure readings on a regular basis please complete our form.
The service is free, confidential and discreet service, and is aimed at patients with a higher than average body-mass index.
Please ask reception, if you are interested in this clinic.
Each October we offer flu vaccinations to our patients who fall into certain categories including the over 65s, patients who suffer with asthma, COPD, heart disease.
When necessary, an appointment will be arranged for you by your GP during a surgery consultation.
Practice Nurse Clinics
Practice nurse clinics are ran daily at New Mills surgery, and on Mondays at Hayfield surgery.

Secondary Coronary Prevention Clinic
These clinics are to monitor patients with coronary heart disease.
This is a confidential service for all aspects of teen health.
No appointment is necessary.
The clinic is available on Monday between 15:15-16:15.
